only tot of getting one with Intel i3 initially.. after we realise Intel Core 2 Duo is going to get phased out soon.. Intel i5 is... omg powerful.. hahah right from switching on the laptop there's alr a difference! it runs up to 2.53 GHz with turbo boost.. machiam like car like that! hahah.. but its also possible cos its a new laptop it runs fast.. haha the shutting down is like almost immediate! i was still thinking did i shut it down properly.. hahah..
got the full Windows 7 ready-install... the interface is....zomg i loveee it! hahah.. tho its really much like a mac interface.. there's still a windows feel so it.. its like the best mix everrrr!! haha think i prob need some time to explore the various functions! haha.. ooh gemstone also came with the multi-gesture touchpad! haha.. kept playing with the zoom functions and stuff.. hahah..
was abit disappointed with acer cos they didnt come with the mac-like dust-free keyboard.. but after typing on it for awhile.. the keyboard is so soft!! not like new laptops with rigid keyboards.. this one felt like i have been using it for like a year alr! hahah..
ooh!! there was a small little surprise when i close to lid to try carrying the laptop... the lid was DARK METALLIC BLUE under the light!! godlike pretty!! hahaha...
the whole process of getting this new lappie was so long and torturous.... but feels so happie and lucky to get a really really really REALLY good deal!! especially after all the confusing discussion getting a 1+4years extended warranty!! omg 5years.. im gonna have trouble next time if i ever feel like changing laptop! hahah.. tho i didnt have lucky hands to pick the biggest hongbao at the lucky dip.. was glad to get a 68bucks! SURE-WIN dips rocks! hahah.. and they gave me free MS Office!! haha.. woohooo!
off to set up my new lappie and figure out stuff here and there.... and transfer stuff from my old hdd...
and project meeting...zzz on a SUNDAY! ):
oh oh oh!!
CONGRATS SHEILA!!((:
SO EXCITING!! haha... (tho i kind of feel old suddenly)
this blog is addictiveeeeee! (:
HP Pavilion dm3-1015TX v Apple Macbook new white
after all the headache.. trip down to funan.. epic centre.. eightflags.. its down to this two.. never ever considered a macbook at all.. until someone offered me macbook pro for just 1.7.. led me to realise i could get macbook at 1.4k student discount.. after the ram upgrade and apple protection plan macbook is 1,890.. looked ard for awhile.. afterall using hp desktop for so long and hp laptop.. i guess im still stubborn and i still wanna take a look at hp.. haha.. disappointed that my old model dv2 only come with AMD processor now.. ): i know it might not be so bad.. but im really scared of overheating problems now.. probably if its a desktop i wont mind an AMD processor. anw looked at dv3 looks like a close replica of my dv2! but its heavy and the price is....hmms hahahh... spotted dm3 along the way! the mac-style keyboard is... omg loveeee! (HP Envy is like really the god-like niceeee!!! but its price was also damn niceeeee at 3,599!) hahahh.. then its 1.6k adding on warranty probably 1.8k.. omg difference of 90bucks.. my headache got so bad.. i felt like its gonna explodee.... ):
and so first thing.. i compared the specs... igoring the operating system first and the similiar ...2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.. HP Pavilion dm3-1015TX came with a 4GB RAM, 500GB internal storage.. Apple Macbook white was 2GB RAM (i could throw in 144 for an upgrade), 250GB internal storage.. the numbers was so obvious.. HP specs was practically double that of Mac for approximately the same price!!
weight...HP 1.9kg and Mac 2.13kg.. hmms 200grams okay..maybe its not that big a diff.. haha
operating system.. Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.. i quite liked their operating system last time.. haha in fact i did the stardock thing last time.. (i think daryl is using that now?? hahaha) tho it last barely a month cos it lagged my lappie like madd.. hahah i didnt mind the switch over to Mac OS initially... and then.. when i see the new Window 7.. wooo.. its really quite impressive! of course will all the praises from cg who's the first Windows 7 user i know.. hahah with two great operating systems i was stuck.. until i tot of.. why on earth am i rushing to get a new laptop? basically for all the freaking individual assignments and projects and presentations im gonna get from just two freaking disgusting 301 and 311 modules.. i need a new lappie.. and for that fact.. i realise i cant survive with my dearest microsoft office.. and soo.... i was swayed towards Windows 7... especially with its new interface...
so after all that troubling and thinking for some time... making sure that everything falls within my budget and to achieve lowest cost for the best stuff.. (omg like the first time im gonna feel the pain.. investing such a big sum of money in something which i know will depreciate so damn fast.. ): ) i guess the big thing that make me make a choice was....
MACBOOK NO LONGER COMES IN MATTE BLACK!! )): omgg.. how could they stop producing it!! thats like the first thing i like about macbook..the matte black.. ): and abit about the fact that they transform Macbook white with the unibody design from macbook pro to make it more durable.. i actually like the box-y feeling of the old Macbook.. ):
anyway....i guess its gonna be HP Pavilion dm3-1015TX ! (: hopefully i can get it at the lowest price possible and if not with more good freebies... HAHAHAH! just kidding..
cant believe first week of school is over...
just
like
that..
loveee catching up with dears at timbre last night.. somehow we seem to fall into similar situations and it kind of makes me feel that... at least im not alone.. (: haha and i think i have said a hundred times... but i still wanna say.. THANKEW SO MUCH FOR THE ELECTRIC BLUE BAG!! its really a surprise cos i just kind of said... omg this bag is so pretty la!! haha but anw i really loveee it!! (:
still find it quite hard to believe what happened.. knowing how cheerful and smiley you were last time. the news was just too shocking and hard to believe.. that things happened the way it was written.. though we might not been the closest friends.. i still rmb you in my ny days.. how you like to sing.. your favourite band was shin.. how we used to take 74 home together.. and you were our class monitress.. you'll always be remembered.. i hope you have found what you have been searching for.. and that you are truly happy.. rest in peace..

When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment. I told them they didn’t understand life.

In London, teenage runaway Angie transforms herself into Penny Bright, darling of the pop scene. But a violent attack leaves her crippled by fear and drug addiction.
Twenty Years
One will steal the other’s life and lose her greatest love. One will try to run from her past but will ultimately have to confront her darkest memories. But both of their lives are linked through the ambitious schemes of a record producer.
One Guilty
Secret From the London glam-rock scene to the opera stages of Europe, from a
remote Greek island to the sun-drenched coast and silent outback of Australia, this duet’s final notes will not be sung until the heart-stopping climax, when a shadow from the past returns to claim them both.
Handle with care by Jodi Picoult
When Charlotte and Sean O’Keefe’s daughter, Willow, is born with severe osteogenesis imperfecta, they are devastated – she will suffer hundreds of broken bones as she grows, a lifetime of pain. As the family struggles to make ends meet to cover Willow’s medical expenses, Charlotte thinks she has found an answer. If she files a wrongful birth lawsuit against her ob/gyn for not telling her in advance that her child would be born severely disabled, the monetary payouts might ensure a lifetime of care for Willow. But it means that Charlotte has to get up in a court of law and say in public that she would have terminated the pregnancy if she’d known about the disability in advance – words that her husband can’t abide, that Willow will hear, and that Charlotte cannot reconcile. And the ob/gyn she’s suing isn’t just her physician – it’s her best friend.
all this reminded me of a really really great book..
The Pact by Jodi Picoult
For eighteen years the Hartes and the Golds have lived next door to each other, sharing everything from Chinese food to chicken pox to carpool duty-- they've grown so close it seems they have always been a part of each other's lives. Parents and children alike have been best friends, so it's no surprise that in high school Chris and Emily's friendship blossoms into something more. They've been soul mates since they were born.
So when midnight calls from the hospital come in, no one is ready for the appalling truth: Emily is dead at seventeen from a gunshot wound to the head. There's a single unspent bullet in the gun that Chris took from his father's cabinet-- a bullet that Chris tells police he intended for himself. But a local detective has doubts about the suicide pact that Chris has described.
Best part of this book... great ending (:
